TAS footballers join new soccer competition

The Armidale School has entered this year’s national knock-out FFA Cup, as the region’s first and only non-premier league team. The FFA cup will provide a new level of competition for the TAS Firsts, who were last year’s undefeated Armidale District Football Association First Grade premiers. Ten teams will play in the Northern Inland division, all except TAS having played as part of the Northern NSW Football Premier League competition. TAS will be up against Tamworth FC, with the winner then playing the winner of East Armidale FC versus Oxley Vale FC. Boys selected for rep football honours

Seven boys from The Armidale School’s First XI will go on to play for the North Coast Independent Schools squad after an undefeated performance at the NCIS championships played in Armidale on 12 March. Almost 200 primary and secondary boys and girls from schools from the Tweed to Kempsey competed in the tournament, hosted by TAS for the second consecutive year.
