Sportsmanship on show at Head of the River

Posted 18th March 2014

Sportsmanship at its best was on display when The Armidale School held its own at the 117th Athletic Association of Great Public Schools of NSW (AAGPS) rowing regatta in Sydney on Saturday 15 March. From a single coxed ‘four’ three years ago, TAS raced in three events over 2000m, at what is many regarded as a pinnacle of schoolboy rowing. The Third and First IV crews each surged their way across the line ahead of two Sydney crews. Tragedy struck the Second IV when a rigging bolt sheared early in the race, but their courageous row up the course, to acclamation of other schools, was an inspiration to all there on the day.

Here’s a press release of the event HoR post
